Rainbow
over San Francisco
San
Francisco is beautiful to photograph in winter. Winter storms can bring
variable lighting conditions that add drama to your picture. Storm clouds
arrive in waves off the pacific ocean. Sections of blue sky mixed with
clouds can create spot lighting. Sometimes you might even get a rainbow.

Tips
Cotton
ball (cumulus) clouds are my favorite to photograph. I try to go take pictures
when I see them in the sky. Sometimes they only last a few hours. I have
also noticed that they seem to vanish as sunset approaches and the temperature
chills. The greatest thing about clouds are they keep changing. The clouds
also change the spot lighting in your picture. It is like watching a picture
being painted before my eyes. My photo tip is to get out there and wait
to see what develops. I spent the afternoon at the bridge hoping for this
rainbow. I was sure glad I was patiently waiting. |
