Years begins with a bang. This year I celebrated by having dinner with
friends. Jumped in the car at 11:30 and made it just in time for fireworks
over looking the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
Photo Tips:
Pictures of fireworks
look better when you have something else in the picture. Fireworks against
a dark sky can look ordinary. I choose the San Francisco skyline as my
added ingredient and backdrop. The buildings in the distance add scale
to the picture. I shoot at F8 with 50 ASA film. It gives some color to
the fireworks without having them turn completely white. Leave your shutter
open until you see a few explosions. Press your cable release on the B
setting to leave the shutter open. Some of my exposures are 30 seconds
long. |
