The giant california redwood trees along the Avenue of the Giants are truly enormous. The moisture on the forest floor supports lust ferns and is vibrant green. It is a must experience place in my book of favorite places to feel little. I arrived this day during a light rain. The rich colors seemed to jump off the page as life was washed clean. The forest was full of life. Some of these trees are 800 years old. I am glad we decide to protect some of the Giant Redwoods before they were all gone. Only 5% of the old growth forest remain. |
