| I knew I had to get out
in the rain. It felt like I was filled with electricity. I knew where I
had to go. It was all to clear. I got there and was drenched with rain
on Easter weekend 2002. I set up my camera. I was wiping my wet lens off
with my shirt. These are not the care instructions I would give any first
time photographer. I was amazed when the sun appeared at sunset. I saw
this rainbow pouring colors into the top of my favorite oak tree. The cows
were too hungry to be bothered.
The Bible speaks of rainbows.
They represent Gods covenant with man. The Bible speaks of oak trees.
They represent what mighty things can grow when you plant a seed. The Muslims
speak of sacred cows. There is something here for everyone.
This picture has been seen
by the United Nations in a Tree of Life campaign. Paul McCartney saw this
picture when performing for Roots of Peace. Vice President Gore was presented
this picture on Earth Day 2005 with a poem written by Carolyn Hedrich.
This picture has a life of its own. Churches, banks and organizations all
seem to find a connection here. This rainbow was truly a gift from God. |
