The evening news said it was dumping snow in Yosemite Valley. I drove all night in order to arrive in Yosemite by sunrise. The skies opened up in the morning after the storm to reveal the valley dressed up in a thick blanket of snow. The next three hours were magical for taking pictures. I hope I can do this again someday. Got to be there when the storm breaks to see the trees covered in snow. The valley is at an elevation of 4,000 feet. Snow storms reaching the valley floor seem to happen only a couple times a year these days. |
