Fog City is a nick name for San Francisco. Fog rolls in from the Pacific Ocean and through the Golden Gate Bridge. I was standing atop the hills in Berkeley watching the fog approach. The fog arrived like a slow motion tidal wave. First it swallows up San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and then Berkeley. It was headed my way. The fog now looked like a wave of water pouring through the trees below my feet. Sunset begins to light up the sky with colors. 10 frames of film later I capture this Fog Fire shot. I am swallowed up by the fog a few moments later. Everything becomes gray. Timing is everything. |
